Can you use traded Pokémon in tournaments?
Introduced during the current season, transferred Pokémon can now be used in Ranked Battles if you speak to the character pictured above and have the Pokémon forget every move it knows.

Duplicate Pokémon will not be allowed. Duplicate held items will not be allowed. Each battle will begin with a 90-second Team Preview phase. Players will have 7 minutes of Your Time, 45 seconds of Move Time, and (now returning to the VGC) 15 minutes of Game Time in each battle.
Why can’t I use transferred Pokemon?
You’re unable to transfer multiple Shiny Pokémon, Lucky Pokémon, or Buddy Pokémon with whom you’ve reached Good Buddy status or above at a time. Additionally, certain Legendary and some Mythical Pokémon (e.g. Mew, Celebi) are not able to be selected for transfer.
Why is deoxys illegal?
Deoxys boasts several of these traits at the same time. It’s tended to be an event Pokémon, and while it’s also super strong in some forms (and super-frail, so manageable), that’s reason enough for its banning.
Is Eternatus legal?
The rules specify that the legal Pokemon are #001 – #397 in the Galar Dex, so everything except for the Doggos, Eternatus, and Mew are allowed.

The main reason Calyrex is likely banned is because of its Shadow Rider and Ice Rider forms, where it fuses with the other Crown Tundra legendaries Spectrier and Glastrier.

Is Mewtwo banned in VGC?
Boasting a massive 700 Base Stat total, Mewtwo is rightly banned from competitive play unless the format includes Legendary Pokémon.
Is Urshifu VGC legal?
The following Pokémon will now be permitted in events using the official Video Game Championships format: Pokémon in the Isle of Armor Pokédex, including Kubfu and Urshifu, are now permitted. Venusaur, Blastoise, Rillaboom, Cinderace, Inteleon, and Urshifu with the Gigantamax Factor are permitted.
Is Calyrex VGC legal?
In addition to the Pokémon listed above, fusion Pokémon will also be legal in VGC. So that means the newest Legendary Pokémon from the Crown Tundra, Calyrex, and their fusion forms with Spectrier and Glastrier, will both be legal to use.
