The larger college stadiums, by contrast, are generally many decades old and have been expanded over the years as demand for those seats has increased. Tennessee’s stadium was built in 1921 with 3,200 seats and has had 11 major expansions over the years to get to the current 102,000 capacity. NFL teams don’t do that.
